Hi guys n gals.... this is Rijo Thomas Jose an S6 Electronics And Communication student from Caarmel Engineering College,Kerala (M.G Univ.).
I had attended the US TECHNOLOGY campus placement on 3rd August 2006. That was my second test, the previous being HCL.
The test consisted of three sections,
    • Written Aptitude Test
    • Group Discussion
    • Interview

The aptitude test was for 90 mins and it consisted of 2 sections-quantitative and comprehension. There is no negative marking which encourages you to attempt all the questions.

The quantitative section consisted of questions from questions relating distance and time, ratios, percentages and all other usual questions associated with quantitative analysis. Practising questions from R.S Aggarval will give u enough preparation. There were around 35 questions from this section.
The comprehension section contained 6 big passages each containing around 10 questions to be answered. Try to read the question and find the ans from the passage rather than reading the whole passage though sometimes the questions might be tricky to which u may not find the answer readymade from the passage. If you are well versed with english a quick reading of the passage will  not be a problem.
This section also contains some questions regarding sentence correction and some regarding finding the right word fro the sentence to be completed. The whole english section contained around 50 questions.
I will advice you to go for the english section first because i think this section was given more importance than the quantitative since that section contained relatively easy questions.
They had results by 3 pm and i was one among the 81 students who had cleared the aptitude test from around 600 students.
Next was the group discussion round. The selected students were placed in groups of 9 resulting in 9 groups. The gd round was of critical important and u need to be able to speak out with clarity of idea and in the right manner. All the students for gd round were ready to take the initiative so u need to be really quick paced . What they look for basically are how u present ur thought on the topic given, ur initiativeness and  ur whole body language. Being not well versed in english and still able to present urself with ur idea will really help u a lot.
The topics are all of either current affairs or the one which would be well known by the students. The time for gd is 8 mins with 1 min for introduction and the rest 7 min for open discussion. The section is concluded by the some one giving the conclusion.
The topic given to me was 'Is it good or bad to have Reservations in education system'.
From each group of the gd round around 5 students on an average were taken resulting in around 45 students for the final round- interview
The interview round was a mix of both technical and hr questions. For E.C and EEE students the interview was mainly HR with questions ranging from describing urself, solving different case studies whick consists of how to tackle probs arising when u work in team and those sort of questions. Some students were  given puzzles to be solved , the puzzles were of easy difficulty level. For CS and IT students the interview consisted of both technical and hr questions. Finally they will round of the interview with telling you to ask, if  there are , some questions about the company.
The interview is of average difficulty and anyone with enough confidence and composure can clear the round very easily.
The list of the final selected candidates were announced by 11:30 pm and 30 odd students were selected including me.
They capped of the entire tiring day with a light refreshment and a qiuck talk. I was really happy to get through all the hurdles and bag that elusive job.
May god help u in ur aspirations and in ur endeavour!!!
