UNESCO Chair In Water Economics Quentin Grafton, ANU

Professor Quentin Grafton of the Centre for Water Economics, Environment and Policy at The Australian National University discusses his role as the first UNESCO Chair in Water Economics and Transboundary Governance. The establishment of the UNESCO Water Chair in Australia represents an important step by ANU, the Australian Government and the United Nations to address the challenges of water security in Africa, which has the largest disparities in water availability and least coverage in potable water supply and sanitation in the world. During his initial four-year appointment, Professor Grafton and his ANU team will work with UNESCO to help achieve one of the key Millennium Development Goals ? environmental sustainability in relation to water resources.
