TCS PAPER ON 29 th SEPTEMBER AT GHAZIABAD

Hi everybody...........TCS paper has three sections.

(a) English

(b) Aptitude

(c) Reasoning

Lets see each section in detail. For English study GRE BARRONS(12th or 13th or 16th Edition) if u r not getting 12th or 13th edition , DONT PANIC and go for 16th edition.i m listing the study material with respect to the 16th edition.

In this section u hav 10 antonyms , 10synonyms , sentence/passage completion and unread passage

(1) My passage was from chap 7.it was "Reading Comprehension Exercise C (4th passage) 'Like her white friends Eleanor Roosevelt.....' "

(2) Passage completion : Reading Comprehension Exercise E (1st passage) 'Observe the delima of fungus.....'

(3) RC is very imp. if u cant read all the passages then remember the answers atleast.

(4) dont spend much time on antonym & synonyms.rather concentrate on the other thing as they r both easy & scoring.

Now comes the second section. This is the easiest section as almost all the questions are repeated from previous papers.learn the METHODS of these questions. and be carefull while answering b'coz the questions appears to b the same as given in the previous ppr but actually it is slightly different.

(3) A plane moves from 9'N45'E to 9'N45'W. If the plane starts at 2 am and takes 9 hours to reach the destination, find the local arrival time?

hint : 24/360 * (sum if E and W degree i.e 90) = 6. Arrival time 2+9=11. Sub 6 from 11. ans 5. In case of 9'N45'W to 9'N45'E add 6 to 11 to get the answer.

(5) Find which is set of faces , vertices and edges belongs to CUBE. Ans 6,8,12

Hint : faces - edges + vertices = 2

(6) Find modulo(373,5)+round(3.4)+truncat(7.7)+round(5.8) (7) Which of the following are orthogonal pairs a)3i+5j b) i+j c)3i-5j d) 7i+j. Ans (a) & (c)

(8) A set of angles for a triangle were given and they asked to find the one that represents a triangle.

Hint: sum of all angles should be 180'

(9) Find the singularity matrix from a given set of (2*2)matrices?

Hint : determinent of matrix is 0

(10) Which of the following set of numbers has the highest Standard deviation? Ans (a) (a) -1,-1,-1,-1,-1,-1 (b)-1,1,0,-1,1,0 (c)1,1,1,1,1,1 (d) 1,0,1,0,1,0 (11) Match the following.

(a) Sentence - paragraph (1) Not a type of

(12) what shape will be obtained using these values X Y 0 0.001 10 1.02 100 1.72 1000 3.00

Ans Y= log 10 (X)

(13) The size of a program is N. And the memory occupied by the Program is given by M = 4000 square root (N). If the size of The program is increased by 1% then how much memory now Occupied? Ans 0.5%

(14)A power unit is there by the bank of the river of 900 meters width. A cable is made from power unit to power a plant opposite to that of the river and 3000mts away from the power unit. The cost of the cable below water is Rs. 5/- per meter and cost of cable on the bank is Rs.9/- per meter. Find the point where the cable cut through the river.sometimes theyalso ask the total cost of laying the cable.

(15)A can copy 50pprs in 10hrs while both A & b can copy 70 pprs in 10 hrs. How many hrs B will take to copy 26 pprs? Ans 13 hrs

(16) a question on sin and cos curves

(17) find $%$(9) - %$%(9) where $ means doubling , % means change of sign.

(18) In a two-dimensional array, X (7, 9), with each element Occupying 2 bytes of memory, with the address of the first Element X (1, 1) is 3000, find the ending address of X (5,8).

hint 3000 + (4*9*2) + (8*2) -2

somtimes they ask for row and column wist arrangements.

(19) If A,B,C are the the mechanisms used separately to reduce the wastage of fule by 30%,40%,10% . what will be the fuel economy if they were used combine(or seperately).

(20). A man, a woman, and a child can do a piece of work in 6 Days. Man only can do it in 24 days. Woman can do it in 16 Days and in how many days child can do the same work?

Hint 1\6 - (1\24 + 1\16)

(21). A, B and C are 8 bit no's. They are as follows: A 1 1 0 1 1 0 1 1 B 0 1 1 1 1 0 1 0 C 0 1 1 0 1 1 0 1

(23) the number 384 in decimal system is given by (1432)x in the X system. find x. Ans 5.

(24)given marks of two students in quaterly and final exam find the marks of the 3rd student.

(25). In calcutta, temperature at noon varies according to t^2/6 + 12t + 12, where t is elapsed time from noon.Find how much temperature more or less in 3pm to 6pm.

(33) 4 expressions were given like (6582*21*43) / (68*32). Now find the one that gives an integer value.

(34)If TAFJHH is coded as RBEKGI then RBDJK can be coded as .....

(35) In the word ORGANISATIONAL, if the first and second, third and forth, forth and fifth, fifth and sixth words are interchanged up to the last letter, what would be the 12th letter from right? Ans A

(36)the bucket size is 10KB.it takes 0.0001 KB/milisec to fill bucket.the bucket takes 1000 milisec to reach to destination.it takes 100 milisec to pass acknowledgement from dest to source.so calculate how much time will it take to pass N KB.

Hint ( 10kb/0.0001 + 1000 + 100 ) * N

Section 3 - Reasoning

This section has 3 questions and each questiin has 4 sub questions. so total 12 questions.

(1) Data interpretation question based on languages.

A & B speak hindi , C & D speak French , A & E Speak english.

Some questions based on this.

(2) There are 6 churches every church opens 5 days a week. Questions based on them.

(6) Difference Between Delete and Truncate.

(8) One question from hobby mentioned in resume.

(9) Any Question.

(i) Prepare an impressive introduction

(ii) Have general knowledge about hobby mentioned in cv.

(iii) Strengths and weakness.........important

(iv) Why do u want to join TCS?

(v) In any question ask a question about compant coz that shows ur interest in TCS.

(vi) Do previous yrs pprs coz mostly questions are repeated.
