    Hello everyone,
I am Rahul Prabhu, and I recently got placed in subex. I want to share my experience of the selection procedure with everyone. The selection procedure comprised of six rounds. The first round was a written round of C aptitude. We had 20 Questions and the time limit was 30 minutes. The cut off for selection to the next round was 8 marks.
The second round was a pool campus round for three colleges, UVCE, MSRIT and BIT. We had a pre placement talk on that day before the test. The second round was a written test too. It had two sections viz. C aptitude and C programming. The C aptitude section had 20 questions and had a time limit of 15 minutes. In the programming section there were 2 questions out of which we were to answer one. The time limit for this was 15 minutes too. The 2 questions were
    1. Write a program to print 'n' most occurring words in text file where 'n' would be given by the user and the text file was to be  given as a command line argument.
    2. Write a program to find the difference between two given dates. The dates are given in mm-dd-yy format. The difference must be in terms of days.
The next four rounds were interview rounds in the Subex campus.
The first technical round was by a project leader. In this round questions were asked on C and C++.
Questions like what is a copy constructor, what is the difference between shallow copy and deep copy, how is C different from C++, what are the object oriented concepts, what is the difference between compile time polymorphism and run time polymorphism were asked. Apart from these I was asked to write C code to implement a stack, code for the longest prefix match, code for a copy constructor etc
The second technical round was by project manager. In this round questions were asked on C, C++, Data structures, Algorithms, DBMS, Operating systems and also a few puzzles. In C and C++ questions were asked on pointers, library functions etc. In DBMS questions were asked on B trees, B+ trees, Normalizations, Normal forms, SQL queries etc. In OS questions were asked on CPU scheduling, how to increase the page size in windows etc. In Data structures questions were asked on implementation of hash tables, linked lists etc.
The third round was by the vice president. In this round I was asked about the projects and research papers I had done. Apart from that questions on operating system like memory management, CPU scheduling etc were asked. Questions on software engineering like "Suppose you are a software engineer and I am the principal of a college who wants a library management system. You have come to collect user requirement specifications. What questins would you ask me?" were asked.
The last round was the HR round. In this round puzzles were asked and many situations were given. This round was all about problem solving and handling the situations you were put in by the HR.
    Hope you find it useful.
    Cheers!!
