Chris and Erin Louis from State College, Pennsylvania were visiting friends in Torrington, Connecticut when Erin, six months pregnant, realized something was wrong. Erin was rushed to the hospital and the NICU team from the UConn Health Center helped with the emergency c-section. The Louis' daughter Adelynn was born weighing 1 pound, 3 ounces with a number of serious health issues. Adelynn spent six months receiving state-of-the-art care in the Health Center's NICU while her parents were able to stay close by thanks to the Health Center's Auxiliary and its Family Place program at Homewood Suites.
