    Hi Guys,

I am Rohit passing out be-ECE bit Mesra 2011. IFB industries visited our campus in December. First of all I would like to inform all engineering students interested in making a career out of core electronics and embedded systems that IFB is a market leader in consumer electronics products in India and provides a great working and learning opportunity but on the dampening side the company's intake is really on the lower side. But never mind.

Yes now about the selection process.

Initially we were given an impressive ppt of the company's profile and a brief q&a session. The first round was good and we were divided in groups of ten. On an averege 1 or 2 students were selected from each group and some groups even going blank (now you can see the initial elimination was about 90%). GD topics were common such as 1. how can our Engg. degree contribute to society (not economy) 2. Will manmohan singh continue for another term etc.

There was no written test the selected students had to face the panel directly. Interview panel was very diverse consisting of the comp asst vp and other high profile officials

    It was an Tech+HR:

HR questions were prototype but the technical was very diverse. I being an ECE grad was asked from electronics, power electronics, electric machines, electrical Engg and Microprocessors.

It was quite grilling but I was able to answer most of the questions. The result was announced shortly and it was upto my expectation.

I got through it and then it was a session with the panel again where we were told of our work profile and possible location.

    The net selection was 4/150.

    Best of luck!
