Getting Her Voice Back

Getting Her Voice Back

Interview with Emory Voice Center patient Karon Schindler. Schindler had an operation on her neck that left one of her vocal chords paralyzed. For years afterward, she had a scratchy voice, found speaking exhausting, and had a hard time being heard. Doctors at the Emory Voice Center were able to restore her voice; although Schindler still has a paralyzed vocal chord, she can speak loudly, sing, and no longer has to dwell on her voice. Schindler tells her story. Related Links Before and After: Treatment at Emory Voice Center Emory Voice Center
