Bloomsbury Project

Bloomsbury Project

The Bloomsbury Project is investigating the growth of Bloomsbury in the 19th century from mostly undeveloped land at the beginning to Britain's centre of progressive education, charities, cutting-edge medicine and research by the end. In this video, project director Prof Rosemary Ashton and researcher Dr Deborah Colville provide insight into a few of the characters and places that made Bloomsbury a cradle of forward-thinking education, following the establishment of UCL in 1826.
